How This Under-the-Radar NBA Guard Could Boost a Celtics Championship Run
What would a trade for Kris Dunn to the Boston Celtics look like?
Dunn's current salary of $2.58 million is easy to match. The Celtics could either absorb him into the Grant Williams TPE and sweeten the pot with a couple of second-round picks – because we all know how much Danny Ainge loves draft picks.
Or, they could send out some like Lemar Stevens, who could potentially find a role for himself as a bench contributor for Hardy's team, given his upside as a defensive pest who can bring energy and physicality.
That way, Dunn could improve the guard rotation without the need to move on from Pritchard. However, it would be interesting to see whether Pritchard would be ok with seeing his playing time reduced after how things played out last season.
Still, I like the notion of adding Dunn, and think he could be a reliable bench contributor moving forward. Furthermore, I think his defense makes him a better emergency option to cover for Derrick White or Jrue Holiday if either of them is forced to miss time – either during the regular season or in the playoffs.
If I had to choose a low-cost guard to upgrade the current rotation, Dunn would most likely be the guy. I'll have some more thoughts on this via YouTube. Hopefully, that will be out later today.
Some final thoughts
I haven't sent out a newsletter in about 10 days. I was dealing with some family and personal issues, and my head wasn't fully in the game. Thankfully, those issues appear to be in the past now.
However, I'm still trying to find a rhythm with everything. As I said before, when I was let go by one of my outlets, it gave me a push to begin building something that resembles an independent revenue stream. That means I'm focusing on growing my social media presence, establishing the YouTube channel, and growing this newsletter.
It's going to be a long road. I'm thankful for all of you who have jumped on board and for those who will (hopefully) join us moving forward. As usual, please consider sharing this on your social media channels, with friends and family, or with colleagues who love the Celtics. The quicker this stuff grows, the quicker I can begin making it all more of a priority.
I'm hoping to have at least one more trade piece sent out before the deadline – after all, it's one of the most enjoyable parts of the regular season.
