Power Ranking The Top 5 Eastern Conference Teams
Episode 22 of the Celtics Chronicle podcast
In the latest episode of The Celtics Chronicle podcast, myself and Tim Sheils discussed which teams make up the top-five in the Eastern Conference after the opening weeks of free agency.
Multiple teams in the East have improved their roster. The New York Knicks added Mikal Bridges. The Philadelphia 76ers went and landed Paul George. The Orlando Magic snagged Kentavious Caldwell-Pope. And James Wiseman may finally show what he’s capable of in the Indiana Pacers’ up-tempo offensive system.
Of course, most of these teams also have some question marks hanging over their heads.
- Can George and Joel Embiid stay healthy and help the Sixers make a deep playoff run?
- Will the Pacers’ internal development be enough to see them take legitimate strides forward?
- Can the Knicks sustain Tom Thibodeau’s minute management en route to a potential final run? And can they replace Isaiah Hartenstein’s bench production?
We try to dive into all of these questions while also accepting that the East is fairly interchangeable between the third and seventh seed.
