Thank you for explaining in detail what an Exhibit 10 deal is. Imho, this is incredible insurance in case of injury to a wing player. I think Lonnie was smart to take this deal to get into the Celtic program and make himself a more rounded player. While he's never been a good defender, defense is mostly effort and I always go back to KG turning Paul Pierce into an at-least league average but imo above average defender after years of being terrible. getting this level of player in this roster slot is BRAD. Lastly, Svi is so much better than most people think. Danny was smart enough to see it. He is a much better athlete than given credit for and can see the floor, not just the shooter that most think. Watch him shine this season...
I totally agree that Lonny could be high-level insurance on the wing. My bigger question is whether the Celtics are willing to make the trade-off on defense, especially with Scheierman already being on the main roster and potentially filling that insurance void (assuming they want to develop him)
Either way, Brad made another smart move and it's given the Celtics options -- all of which are good :)
I'm interested to see how Svi does. I think he struggled in Boston because they demand two-way versatility where possible and Hauser's defense allowed him to cement that role.
Disagree on Svi. have been a big fan since college , wanted to add him years ago but his game just never really developed. Has shot sub 70%from FT last 3 years and FG % barely above 40% for his career. Tough to play in crunch time if you don't shoot FT at a good %
I respect your opinion but I think those percentages are skewed in that he's never gotten a chance to play consistently (at least recently). It is really easy to miss 1 of 2 FTs when you haven't played in a week and you just came in the game after sitting for the first 45 minutes of it. I could be wrong, I guess we're going to find out this season as I believe he'll be in their rotation. I'm sure we all will be watching to see how he does...
A solid, athletic, bench addition. An upgrade over Svi and Oshae. Flexibility for him and others to battle for the final spot. He could replace Springer who could be traded if C's decide not to resign
I think he's certainly an offensive upgrade, but he's nowhere near the defender Osahe was. My concern is, his role is already well stocked on the roster, at which point, is his addition overkill?
I do like his overall skillset, though and wouldn't be made if they chose to keep him around for the season.
better defensively than Svi. Oshae a bit bigger, but a terrible shooter that really didn't get much court time. Hauser Walsh Scheierman will take Oshae's minutes. Walsh needs to clean it up or he could be gone in a trade although still real young. He didn't look good in summer league. Walsh and Springer, X, Queta and Luke under scrutiny
