Could be a lot out for both sides. Good for the bench to get minutes. AT who do you think fills the last roster spot? I think we need a big on Jokic for the playoffs. Griffin? Howard? Kanter? Cousins? Not filling this role but would have dropped Svi for Kai Jones, Low risk high reward. Weiskamp also playing well in Maine
I'm honestly not sure. I think that Jokic struggles the most against undersized bigs with strength -- think Grant Williams. So, that's why I expected Tillman to get minutes against the Nuggets, due to him fitting the criteria to pester Jokic and similar bigs.
I would expect a wing to get the final roster spot (if it's not Queta.) But, I personally like Danuel House or Otto Porter Jr. I also wouldn't be against adding some guard insurance with Cory Joseph. Personally, I'm against adding a fifth big, I feel like that's over kill to have 33% of the roster commited to one position.
At the time I wrote this, Porter was still with the Jazz haha - he was waived later in the day - shows how quickly things change.
I get what you're saying re the 4/5, but for me, unless you can consistently guard on the perimeter, switch a couple of positions, and operate as a 4 on offense, those minutes they're getting are fleeting for a reason. If we're being honest, X and Al are the only two we're going to trust at the 4 for long stretches.
They're all players that are at their best when playing the 5. So, to me, I don't want another 5. That's illogical in terms of roster construction, imo. I could be totally wrong here, and will always be open to conversation and to seeing how things play out.
Just to add to this, here are some numbers re: minutes distribution at the 4/5 for Al, Luke, X, and KP
Al: 50% at the 4, 50% at the 5
LK: 100% at the 5
KP: 5% at the 4, 95% at 5
X: 46% at the 4, 54% at the five.
So, those numbers seem to reflect the discussion point. All are capable of fleeting minutes at the 4. Only Al and X will be trusted there. All except Al have a bigger percetage of their minutes in the middle of the court.
Just to round this out, Neemy spent 96% of his minutes at the 5, 4% at the 4.

Like House and his energy. Porter just retired. Not really one position. We have seen Joe run KP & Luke X, Al at times to cover 4/5.
